It's kind of amazing how original a deep house groove can be in the right hands. In this case, the right hands are Just Her (on the remix here) and KatrinKa whose release Echo Gnomic is out now at beatport.
Guitar music from Kaki King, but that's might be kind of an understatement, because there's so much in it. This is from her latest album The Neck Is a Bridge to the Body, which besides being a remarkable album is part of a just-as-remarkable-and-maybe-even-more-so live show. If you're in Brooklyn reading this, she's at Rough Trade tonight.
It takes a lot of something to do the lead vocal on a remake of a song Chaka Kahn already tore up, but Jasmine Thompson is all about it and then some. This is Felix Jaehn's "Ain't Nobody" with this Future House remix by Gunes Ergun, but don't miss the Melodic House Original Mix.
What is this from Turkish producer Deeperise? It's really cool, but it's not exactly anything you'd put into a hashtag, because there's lots of different musical ideas, and nice ones, woven into it. Deeperise calls it #Nu Disco on the Soundcloud tag, but it's got a really smooth #Deep House groove at 120, a really nice #Vocal, and a soulful blues # Guitar vibe running through it.
The followup to Fantasy is just as nice, or as Chicago DJ/Producer Sean Duck (he's the one who told us about it) said when he posted this: "Absolutely THRILLED by the most recent release from Alina Baraz & Galimatias."
