Dan Agosto and Johnny Nevin worked with an amazing artist named Shayna Swanson, composing an as-yet-unreleased track they call "What Was Beyond". Shayna has a live video of her performance that you really have to see: it's at YouTube.
We heard about this track from Paige Fraser, a founding member of Visceral Dance Chicago. It's from Darryl Joseph, and although he tagged it as "#Experimental", imaginative would be just as good a word to use, especially the lead guitar break in the middle which fits in really nice. It does have a choreography feel to it, so especially if you're a choreographer looking for music, check it out.
The Phone Calls have four new tracks at their bandcamp, and they're playing a show tonight in Chicago. How's that for some good news? Wally's World around 10PM. Here's a surf guitar jam called "Sweet Reef", recorded at Chicago City Studios recently, and there's another great version of it on their first album, The Phone Calls.
Sometimes drama is good, and this new 120 BPM Deep House track from Michael and Levan and Steven Rivic is full of drama, in the good sense. It's made out of killer beats, great atmosphere and an uncanny sense for dramatic tension. Makes for quite a ride.
