On the last Saturday of every month metal head's gather in north Roger's Park at the Redline Tap. Metal Up Your Tap is booked and organized by Trevor Fisher, who also writes up the metal scene for the Illinois Entertainer.

I was lucky enough to be a part of this event this past Saturday September 26th. I recently took over duty on bass guitar for Chicago hard rock troupe Hay Perro. Along with fellow Chicagoans Reptoids and Missouri sludge rockers Thorlock we played loud and fast for a terrific crowd.

This month's show was a benefit for a member of the Chicago metal band Sweet Cobra Mat Arluck and his fight against cancer. Lots of great raffle prizes were provided by the bands as well as Metal Haven and C1rca Footwear (among others).
